I hope you all are doing great and that the deluge of emails are slowing down for you! Now that the campaign is no longer running we can catch our collective breath. Or, well, you guys can, my work is just beginning! I'm sure you've been inundated with similar information in the past day or so, so I will keep this brief. First of all,


THE PRE-ORDER STORE IS OPEN AND HAS ALL THE STRETCH GOALS!


If a specific item does not reach the order goal it will be canceled/refunded to you automatically. There's also more stuff to see! For example, there are the Chopping Block Rescues, 3 designs that were popular or had a diehard fan or two. Their goals are high but it is still a better chance than none at all!

There are 1:1 Gift Cards for lairbrew.com available if you are a plush lover or know someone who is. Larger gift cards that accomplish milestones on their lonesome come with extra credit- up to $300!

Here is our upcoming timeline:
  • Surveys go out February 28th! Tests will go out before then, and I will announce when they do.
  • Manufacturing will begin March 7th! This will only be for designs unlocked during the course of the campaign. 
  • Orders will lock April 2nd! This will only lock down your pledge and does not prevent you from using the pre-order store. NOTE: At this time any failed pledges with no successful payment will be cancelled.
  •  The pre-order store will close May 31st! Get your stretch goal orders in before then! Any additional manufacturing for freshly unlocked designs will start no later than June 2nd.
  • We will have to play manufacturing dates by ear. I'll keep you all updated whenever there is news. Everything I know, you'll know! Shipping dates will be determined by stock arrival.

When it is fulfillment time, if you have not paid for your shipping after 2 charge attempts and I have been unable to get in contact with you I will be canceling your fulfillment and considering the credit a generous donation to the campaign.

I will be pretty busy fairly soon here, so let me apologize in advance if my updates get a bit scarce! I will still be checking in for all the milestones, but I won't have the time to do much more than that until around May. I'm going to be vending at 3 shows back-to-back and that's an extremely stressful time and energy consuming sort of thing.

We're going to be wrapping up in not much time! We have the same bags unlocked as the last few updates, but be ready for the addons and pre-order store- all locked designs will be post-campaign stretch goals there!

These designs currently include:
  • All 4 premium cuts
  • 2 remaining mini bags
  • Zebra 2-Bone bag
  • 3 chopping block rescues

If you order from the pre-order store it is a separate transaction with its own shipping cost. Please get your add-ons via survey if you want all youe shipping combined! Ordering selectively in the pre-order store can prevent your backer goodies from being delayed though, since orders only ship once the whole order is ready. You are welcome to do whichever you prefer!

Sorry for the mushiness, there is nothing critical below but:
I want to take a moment to thank all of you who've supported the campaigns and are sticking through. Thank you all for supporting SO MANY creators this Pintopia! It's rough out here, and making a living as a creative is only getting harder. The lives you touch by supporting the efforts of independent artists are invariably going to be affected in a profound way. Please know your pledge causes ripples even if the result is not visible to you.

For example, here I am in a warm house with food in my belly! Those are not things I have always had, and would not have if it wasn't for folks supporting what I do, so please believe me when I say I'm immensely grateful and forever blown away by your support. So truly, thank you. I know it is a big deal for me to have you backing this project while we cross the finish line together. I know what a weighty decision that likely represented to you, and I will do my best to make you as happy with the decision as possible!

I can't wait to start sending out the smiles and social connections these bags bring in the coming months. Let's see how far we go!

The Final 48 Hours

Anyone else sweatin' while approaching the finish line? It's time for a second wind! Especially since I have some good news! But first:

Premium Cut Voting is (almost) Anyone's Game!

Bear Chow is in the lead by one vote, and Alley Chow is only beating Mako Chow by one vote! That is INSANELY close!!! With only 1 or 2 votes separating the 2nd and 3rd place designs from finally overtaking Bear Chow it is going to be. The poll closes when the campaign ends so nothing is final til then. If we end up with a tie I will have to do another much briefer poll with just the 2 options on it.

As for the hopeful news, guess what!

Pre-Order Stretch Goals Are A Thing!!

There is actually a pretty good chance that we will hit the next stretch goal organically, but for any design that isn't unlocked there will be a second chance in the form of Pre-Order Stretch Goals! People can reserve the exact design they want, and if enough of that design are ordered before time is up the bag it will be unlocked! I wish this was something we had an option to do as part of the regular course of a compaign, but it unfortunately isn't an option.

Second, our partner campaign is working toward unlocking Dreamy plush! If you haven't backed A Colorful Horde yet please consider doing so to help manifest this sweet dragon in to the meat space.



And just in case you missed it when it was announced: Premium Cut bags are available as an add-on!

Some Final Prototypes!

Hey all! Just a brief update to cover a couple things. Mainly, I got photos of the final Zebra Haunch and Zebra 2-Bone bags! They are on the way to me now, though I highly doubt I'll have them in time to do photos before the campaign ends. A bit of a shame since I didn't get any clear photos of them being held up this time, and these bags look a lot better in use than they do laid flat and empty on a table.


Speaking of Zebra Haunch, we hit 11k and are on our way to 12k!

That means the zebra haunch is unlocked in a "no out of pocket gap bridging" kind of way! Which is amazing news. We're currently $3.2K away from unlocking the first Premium Cut, and I'm not gonna jinx us by saying we'll definitely make it or something, but I'll at least say I am super excited to see where we land at the end of the campaign! Mako Chow is my favorite of the Premium Cut designs. If we unlock it I gotta do something to celebrate! I dunno what yet though.
